Libby Hill Park is one of the three original parks in the Richmond park system. The view from Libby Hill Park is said to resemble the view of Richmond on the Thames in England. It’s this high point that is said to have given Richmond its name. Created in the 1850s to offer “breathing places” for citizens to take in healthful air, this park is situated in the Church Hill neighborhood.
Laura Lee’s

Library of Virginia
The Library of Virginia celebrates 200 years in 2023. In 1823 the General Assembly created the Library of Virginia to organize, care for, and manage the state’s growing collection of books and official records. Some of the record date back to the early colonial period. The Library occupied rooms in the Capitol in Richmond until 1895. It then moved locations a few times before opening to the public on 800 East Borad Street in 1997. It has the most comprehensive collection of materials on Virginia government, history, and culture available anywhere. Check out their website for hours open to the public for diving into Virginia’s history.
Lunch.Supper!
